Opening eBay store

From quite some time I’m planning to open a Company that I can take forward. I think it will give me more freedom to do what I want to do in my life, rather than some company telling me to do such-and-such project.

There are few good ideas that came up in last few weeks, but together with them the biggest challenge also comes – CASH FLOW. How will I maintain my cash flows to support the business?

I was reading “Connecting the Dots” and one of the entrepreneurs wrote that start from small things and start adding new things over time. Don’t just jump and try to make the perfect thing in first go. There will be lot of changes that you will have to do over time. So this blinked as a BULB in my head and I decided to at least try to start something. After all I’m pretty independent and I don’t have much to loose if it does not work the first time. I will learn something for it and make it better over time.

The first idea that came is pretty simple – sell some handicraft and art work from India on eBay, and if it clicks I can have my own website that can list the items.

I didn’t had a lot of work at office in MCD, so on Tuesday I left early around 3:30PM. I hopped over a DTC Bus to Janpath, straight to The Indian Handicrafts emporium and the street shops. Initially the idea was to get a marble elephant and list it on eBay. But those were really expensive. Even the smallest piece of  5cm costed above 350. So I started searching for other alternatives. From my experience of stay in US I know Americans like perfume candles a lot. So I though of getting a art piece with openwork in which candle can be kept. But after 1 hour I settled on a Soapstone plate having jali work and listed it on eBay.

The eBay store is not able to add my details as a Seller as they are not able to recognize my India phone number. So I faxed them a proof for authentication. It should take 4-5 days for approval.

If I’m able to get some buyers interested in it I’ll list more items on eBay and then can have an online webpage to sell these items. Lets see how it goes.

There are more ideas that are bursting in my head. Let’s see how this one works.

Here is a photo of the first item that I posted on eBay.

The talking.

Had a great time today. Watched 3 episodes of Friends back to back. It really is fun to watch it. By looking at how frankly they talk to each other I felt that I should also go out and talk to more people around. I should open open. It’s fun at times to talk to people and pass on a smile. It does not hurt.

Welcome 2012

Started my New year with a flat tyre. What a great start :)

Welcome 2012. Let’s see what you’ve got.

Second term over

After hectic 4 days of back to back Exams, they are finally over and I’m loving it. These days went by really fast. This time I did the Exams more seriously and all of them went pretty well. Atleast as compared to the last term. :)

Browsing and Surfing..

Off-late I have realize that there is a lot of time that I waste surfing through the net. Once it’s gone, I think over it – That what really I gained by wasting my time browsing? And frankly i don’t have a clue.

There are lot of things that come across my mind that I think I should be doing, but always feel hard pressed against the time. Well most of it is simply wasted doing nothing.

So now on I’ll put less time browsing through the net endlessly and do something that is what is worth doing..I plan to do the following things and get more serious on life:-

a) Study for my MBA and together with it try to understand how to bring practical application of the things that I’m learnings.

b) There are times when thoughts come to my mind and I feel that I will write it down in the blog. But don’t devote time for it. So will start working on that.

c) Devote more time with the family.

d) Start to think in direction of what kind of a company I can establish and start working on the same.

e) Read the books I like to read.

The Alchemist – Second thoughts.

There are times when i feel to pick an old book I have already read before. But i never read it again, because somewhere i feel like it’s quite a time waste. But yesterday I really did picked up a book again and started reading it. it’s “the Alchmist”.

I had a heard a lot about it so I read it, but somehow didn’t liked it that much. probably it was not the kind of book I was thinking of reading – inspirational and motivational.

Now that I have picked it up again, it feels really good to read.

My sister’s Roknaa.

It’s my sister’s Roknaa today – 5 Nov.

I bought myself a new golden Kurta Payjama from Lajpat Nagar and my sister bought purple sari to wear for the occasion. After whole day of office and class after reaching home I ironed my Kurta and prepared the camera for the function. We all got up at 8 in the morning. We had to reach at there place at 11.30 sharp because it’s auspicious time before 12. We all were able to coordinate pretty well and were right on time for the function at 11.30.

The function was organized in there basement and after some cold drinks it started. My papa, mumi did Tika to my sister, boy and all there family members that came. All through the function I made a video and Udit took still photographs. After the Tilak we had lunch and all returned back.

There were thoughts that started flowing as I watched my sister in Sari sitting there. She has grown up and pretty soon will be married. My sister will not be there with me to play Mario and fight around. It seems to me she is still small, and while thinking her picture of childhood comes in front of me. But she has grown up. She will be going to start a new chapter in her life in few months.

How Amazing. Time passes slowly day-by-day, minute-by-minute, yet when you look back it feels as if is running so fast…How Amazing!!
